MAZDA AUSTRALIA ARE RELEASING AN ALL-ORANGE MAZDA MX-5 IN CELEBRATION OF THE TOP-SELLING ROADSTER’S 30TH ANNIVERSARY!
Mazda has announced that this special-edition roadster will showcase at the Chicago Auto Show from February 9th to 18th.
This year, the top-selling roadster made its grand debut at the Chicago Motor Show in 1989 and will celebrate its 30th Anniversary this year.
Since it’s release, the MX-5 has been a symbol of Mazda’s car-making philosophy with over 1-million units sold worldwide.
Enthusiasts can expect to see a special numbered badge featured on the MX-5’s console and owners will also receive a commemorative watch upon purchase.
More details are expected to be released closer to the date however, we can expect that the roadster will be powered by the zesty 2.0-litre engine with 135kW/205Nm, as standard.
The pricing for this limited-edition model is rumoured to reflect the same as previous special edition models, like the 2014 Mazda MX-5 25th Anniversary at $48,340 (plus on-road costs).
This is in comparison to the current retail price of the latest Mazda MX-5 which sits at $39,400 (plus on-road costs).
Mazda USA posted about this anniversary celebration on their Twitter account stating, “Celebrating #30YearsofMiata begins with celebrating our fans & their stories. Every day from now until the @ChicagoAutoShow, we’ll be sharing some of those stories with you. The 30-day countdown to the 30th Anniversary MX-5 is on.
