Michelin set to break 480km/h with next-gen hyper-performance tyres
Michelin is rumoured to be developing a new-gen, hyper-performance tyre which can topple the current production car speed record of 447km/h. The key to this product is not the weight or aerodynamics which are holding us back but the rubber, which, on current tyres, disintegrates at the attempted speeds.
If Michelin is able to finalise this tyre and make it available for hyper-performance cars, it will change the game and enable unfathomable straight line speeds which haven’t been reached before. The key to this breakthrough? A tyre with an exotic blend of synthetic which hasn’t been seen before. Keep an eye on out website for more details as they are released.
